Required assets to set up a release
In order to set up a release for distribution in Labelcaster, you’ll need to have the following ready to go:
- Mastered stereo audio file—the music
We accept .wav files with the in the following sample rates and bit depth:
- 44.1 kHz - 16 bit
- 44.1 kHz - 24 bit
- 48 kHz - 24 bit
- 96 kHz - 24 bit
- Note: We no longer accept 48 kHz - 16-bit
The audio itself should be final, mastered versions only (no demo content or added silence padding). It must be clean, not overly distorted. It cannot have abrupt cutoffs.
- Cover art
The artwork must be exactly square — at least 3000 x 3000 pixels — in .jpeg or .png format
Cover art requirements for restrictions and other guidelines
- Artist profiles
The artist must be in the Labelcaster platform, ready to connect to the release. You can invite as you set up the release, if you need to. You’ll need their email addresses to do that.
How do I add an artist?
- Metadata ready to fill in Composer (songwriter), Producer, Performer(s), catalog number (optional, if you have one), release date, genre(s), language. This must be accurate and complete. It behoves you to have rich metadata as it enables listeners to find your music through ways other than title, e.g. tagging for Shazam, algorithmic playlists, etc.
- We can supply UPC and ISRC codes, or you can enter your own if you already have them.
