How do I transfer an existing catalog from my previous distributor to Labelcaster?
Follow these steps to ensure a smooth migration between distributors:
- Distribute your catalog through Labelcaster
- Once the catalog is live, verify that streaming numbers and metadata are correct
- Request takedown from previous distributor
Upload your releases as you would with new releases. Use the original release dates, UPC codes, and ISRC codes from your previous distributor. This ensures that DSPs maintain your streaming numbers correctly.
When the release date arrives, check your content is live correctly on the DSPs. For Spotify releases, you can verify multiple distributor deliveries by checking the "1 more release" dropdown menu below the release.
Once you've verified that the version delivered through Labelcaster displays correctly, you can request takedowns from your previous distributor.
