We are laser focused on supporting independent record labels. Because we take the risk with our label partners ( no upfront fees), we’ve created an application process to bring onboard promising business partners. This means an actual human here screens every application to ensure that the account info is legit, the owner has the rights to distribute music in their catalogs, and they are actually a viable label—not an individual artist.
In the application, we ask for some proof that your business is likely to be going concern. Please take the time to include your label’s website and social media accounts, a sense of your business objectives and plan, and of course, some highlights of your catalog with links to your artists and their releases. If we don’t have tat information, we cannot accept your application. We do love new upstart businesses and want to support up-and-coming independent record labels. You don’t have to be huge, but you do have to be a serious label business.
So if you’ve applied as a label, give us a couple of days to get back to you, we’ll have a discussion and then make decision. If after that, we think you’re a good fit, we’ll approve the application and welcome you aboard the platform!
*If you are an artist wanting to self publish, you might want to check out aggregators such as Distrokid, Amuse, TuneCore, CDBaby or the like.
