Understanding Your Release’s Status

In DISTRIBUTION CENTER you can see the Status color coded and by name to understand where it is in the process and if you need to take any actions. Here is a lost of various status states.

Steps for setting up and distributing a release in Labelcaster with associated status indicators

Normal Release Flow Status

When you add a release for distribution and it will flow through all of the these status states as it goes from a a draft to released.

:draft: DRAFT Release is fully editable and no contracts have been set. This is the stage where you add artists, content, metadata and set up contracts. Once the contracts are sent out the release moves into signing and is not longer editable.

:signing: SIGNING Release is no longer editable. You are waiting for someone to sign the contract. If you catch an error or need to redo the contract, you can go to CONTRACTS and cancel it. This returns the release to DRAFT status.

:ready: READY All participants have signed the release, and you can have a final review and approval before hitting DISTRIBUTE.

You must tap Distribute at this stage to move the release onto us for processing and final distribution otherwise it just sits paused.

:processing: PROCESSING The release is now in our hands, and we will run it through Quality Control before delivering to your chosen targets. When the release passes Quality Control, it receives UPC and ISRC codes as needed. Once approved, a Smartlink is created for the release, along with a confirmation message that it's on its way.

:released: RELEASED The release is now live on your chosen targets! The Smartlink converts to a regular listening link that directs fans to your release on the major DSPs.

Exceptions

Sometimes there are issues or you need to make changes. The following Statuses indicate those situations.

:failed: FAILED For various reasons a release may have problems in Quality Control that prevent us from moving into distribution. Some of those reason may be problems with cover art or audio formats, copyright issues, missing data, etc. We’ll send you an email letting you know, and the release will be marked as FAILED. You’ll need to get in touch with our support to correct any issues.

 TAKEDOWN If you have requested a release be taken down form distribution entirely, it will be marked as TAKEDOWN. You will receive emails letting you know when everything has happened.
