SoundCloud
SoundCloud artist IDs are usually text versions of the artist's name—not the entire URL. Generally, they directly follow the main SoundCloud domain in the URL.
https://soundcloud.com/
artistname
Examples: https://soundcloud.com/
newhormones
or https://soundcloud.com/
newhormones
/sets/the-cynical-duet
.
You can get the URL in a couple of ways:
In SoundCloud in a web browser
- Search and find the artist: https://soundcloud.com/search
- Go to the page. From the address/URL bar, copy the name section (just after soundcloud.com/ )
From the SoundCloud App
The link you copy from the artist page inside the SoundCloud app does not contain the artist ID. It is a short link. You must open that link in an external browser to obtain the artist profile. The resulting URL contains the artist ID.
In the SoundCloud App:
- Search and find the artist
- Go to their artist page
- Tap the three dots at the top right of the artist page
- Choose “Copy link”
The link will look something like this
https://on.soundcloud.com/16im8a9wdr8y58LTY2
[This is not the artist ID]
- Open a browser (e.g., Safari or Chrome) and paste the link into the address/URL bar.
- The link will resolve to a SoundCloud page. Do not open the SoundCloud app. Stay in the browser.
- The new URL will be long and contain the artist ID immediately after soundcloud.com/ and before the question mark (?). (question mark). See the example below:
https://soundcloud.com/

?ref=clipboard&p=i&c=0&si=81CE6BCF189E4FE69E5F5AD17FB59224&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing
- Copy the ID
Once you have copied it, make sure you add it to the artist profile in Labelcaster.
